    Description

Qantas Cabin Crew Australia Pty Limited (QCCA), a Qantas Group company, is offering an exciting opportunity exclusively for candidates proficient in Japanese. If you have a passion for delivering a premium customer experience and demonstrating great care for people, this is your chance to bring it to life.

As a member of the QCCA cabin crew team, no two days are the same. You’ll explore endless possibilities, be challenged, resolve problems, and make a difference in someone’s day. With a strong and positive attitude, you’ll be surprised at what you can achieve and how you can play a key role in shaping the customer experience.

This role offers the opportunity to have fun, work with a diverse and amazing team, and create unforgettable experiences. As a language speaker, you will also be rostered on specific patterns aligned to language lines to meet customer requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

As a Cabin Crew Member, you will leverage your language skills to provide a meaningful experience to our Japanese-speaking customers while maintaining your nominated language proficiency to meet operational and customer requirements. You will have pride and a clear passion for delivering exceptional and consistent service experiences, understanding our customers, anticipating their needs, and taking responsibility for providing superior service. You will appreciate cultural diversity and sensitivity, assisting customers who may need extra help, such as children traveling alone, nervous flyers, or those who do not speak English as their first language. Compliance with all company procedures and policies is essential, as is being trained and confident in aircraft safety procedures and first aid, passing all training and assessment requirements. You should easily build rapport and trust within a team, positively contributing to team performance. Adaptability is key, allowing you to respond sensibly, warmly, and safely to any situation that may arise. You will take a caring approach when interacting with customers, offering food, beverages, and any assistance they may need on board. Additionally, you will understand the importance of maintaining hygiene standards in-flight to ensure all areas of the cabin remain clean and fresh for our customers.

    Requirements

The successful candidate must be at least 18 years of age and possess sound written and verbal communication skills in English to effectively follow or implement safety instructions. Advanced proficiency in Japanese is essential, and candidates must be willing to undertake the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) speaking test, delivered by Language Testing International (LTI), at their own expense, achieving a minimum score of “Advanced Low.” Customer or hospitality service experience, or previous experience in the airline industry, is required. Candidates must hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate completed within the last 12 months or be willing to obtain one at short notice, along with current CPR accreditation (valid for six months, with a refresher course required if expired). Physical requirements include a maximum height of 186cm, a minimum reach of 212cm from the ground with both hands at the same time while barefoot, and excellent health and fitness. This includes the ability to swim 50 metres fully clothed and tread water for three minutes unassisted.
