Description
American Airlines is looking for a Crew Manager, Inflight Attendance, to join its team in Miami. This role is responsible for supervising, directing, and coordinating attendance activities of Flight Attendants. As part of the Flight Service team within the Customer Experience group, the position plays a key role in supporting operational excellence and crew management.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Crew Manager, Inflight Attendance, you will work on and off par reporting for assigned groups and transition Flight Attendants to Level 2+ when warranted. You will lead all attendance conversations in base and update APS regularly with documentation. This role involves processing mitigation in line with contractual and company policy in collaboration with FSM and local base management, serving as the local contact for reinstatement and leave policy questions, including FMLA and medical leaves. You will support local base operations and APFA, coach and counsel Flight Attendants to ensure understanding and compliance with all company and departmental policies, procedures, and regulations, and initiate appropriate corrective action up to and including dismissal. Participation in task forces and planning activities is expected to help problem-solve and guide the future direction of the department. Additionally, you will support various initiatives set by Flight Service and must have the ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills, and experience working with a contract labor group. The ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects simultaneously is required. Candidates must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges. Preferred qualifications include current Flight Service, Passenger Service, or Passenger Sales experience, prior Flight Attendant experience, and knowledge of American-specific systems such as SABRE, NAVIA, Case Manager, Attendance & Performance System, and FlightCAPs. Candidates must also fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable.
