CommuteAir is looking for a Flight Attendant based in Washington Dulles. This is a great opportunity to join a regional airline dedicated to safety, service, and teamwork. As a Flight Attendant at CommuteAir, you'll play a key role in ensuring inflight safety, delivering excellent customer service, and working closely with both flight and ground crews to provide a seamless travel experience.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Flight Attendant, you will ensure safety standards on board are met and that passengers comply with applicable FAA and company regulations and policies. You will provide outstanding customer service and assist passengers while on board, representing not only CommuteAir but also the codeshare partner United Airlines. You will complete necessary checklists, paperwork, and reports as outlined in the Flight Attendant Manual, and communicate effectively with pilots and ground crew to ensure efficient and safe operation of flights. You must be prepared to handle an emergency at any time during a flight and comply with company policies as outlined in the Flight Attendant Manual and Employee Handbook. Other duties will be performed as assigned and agreed upon in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Requirements
The successful candidate must be at least 21 years of age and hold a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Fluency in the English language, both written and spoken, is required along with a minimum of 2 years of customer service experience. The candidate must maintain composure and a professional appearance, with no visible tattoos or piercings other than in the ears, and must comply with company uniform and grooming standards while on duty. Excellent verbal and written interaction with passengers, coworkers, and vendor or contractor representatives is essential. The role demands full attention to others, asking questions to clarify understanding, the ability to solve problems and interpret work-related documents, and the capacity to evaluate new information for effective problem-solving and decision-making. The candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States—either as a citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work—and must possess a valid United States or foreign passport with applicable VISAs, with unrestricted ability to travel to and from all cities served by CommuteAir. A satisfactory 10-year background history, including criminal background, is required. Physically, the candidate must be able to perform medium work by exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. consistently to move objects, and must fall within the height range of 4'11" to 5'11" without shoes due to cabin space limitations. The role also requires the ability to push and control a beverage cart weighing up to 250 lbs. on wheels, move in confined spaces with actions such as reaching, crouching, kneeling, bending, and twisting, reach and operate emergency equipment and exits, and hear clearly in a loud environment. All physical requirements must be achievable with or without accommodation.
