American Airlines is looking for a Staff Assistant I, Inflight, to join its team at LAX. This role involves performing a wide range of administrative duties to support Flight Attendants and Inflight management in daily operations. As part of the Inflight staff assistant team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient crew support.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Staff Assistant I, Inflight, you will respond to Flight Attendants' general questions in person and by phone, file expense reimbursements, handle mail and FEDEX, and provide tablet support at the Crew Service Centers. You will assist in the coordination of Flight Attendant parking and Crew IDs, order supplies, and maintain the e-board in the crew rooms. This role is based at the Crew Service Center and involves ongoing interaction with Flight Attendants throughout the shift by coordinating and resolving their queries. You will also assist the Operations Coordinators with all aspects of Inflight operations and ensure office and crew room computers and equipment are in working condition. In the absence of an Operations Coordinator, you will assume all administrative functions.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency, with at least 2 years of experience using PC, Sabre, DECS, and RES. Current or previous inflight or crew scheduling experience is preferred. Candidates should possess independent judgment and decision-making skills, knowledge of working with contract labor groups, and the ability to work all shifts, holidays, and overtime as required, including rotating shifts and days off. The candidate must also fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable.
