Join Horizon Air as a Flight Attendant and Bring Your Passion!
If you're someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys creating meaningful moments for travelers, and values safety above all else, a Flight Attendant role with Horizon Air could be the next great step in your career. Flying throughout the western United States, our crews are known for their professionalism, warmth, and the kind of authentic hospitality that turns a routine regional flight into a memorable experience. This is a dynamic role that blends safety leadership, customer care, and teamwork—perfect for someone who wants a rewarding and purpose-driven career in aviation.
As part of the Horizon Air team, you will represent the Alaska Airlines family of brands, acting as a welcoming guide from takeoff to touchdown. You'll manage a wide range of inflight responsibilities, from ensuring compliance with safety procedures to offering exceptional service with a genuine smile. This position is union-represented and offers a structured career path, strong benefits, and the chance to grow with an airline that truly values its people.
What You'll Be Doing Day-to-Day?
In this role, you'll take responsibility for the safety and comfort of every guest on board. That includes performing required safety checks, confirming that all emergency equipment is functioning, offering friendly assistance with seating and carry-on items, and delivering clear and confident safety briefings. You'll prepare and serve food and beverages—including alcoholic drinks—while also promoting available products and handling sales using a mobile device. During the flight, you'll answer questions, share helpful destination insights, and address passenger needs with calm professionalism, even during challenging situations such as medical incidents. Additional inflight tasks may be assigned depending on operational needs.
Where You'll Be Based?
Horizon Air has several Flight Attendant bases across the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, and candidates must be willing to relocate to any of the following cities:
- Portland (OR)
- Seattle–SeaTac (WA)
- Anchorage (AK)
- Spokane (WA)
- Boise (ID)
- Everett (WA)
What You Need to Bring?
To thrive in this role, you'll need at least two years of experience in customer-facing or community service work, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to meet the physical demands of the job—including fitting safely into airline safety equipment such as jump seats and harnesses. Professional appearance and adherence to uniform standards are essential, as is the flexibility to work a rotating schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. You'll travel frequently, sometimes with little advance notice, and must be comfortable managing various duties under pressure.
You'll also need to attend a four-week paid training program in Portland, Oregon. A valid passport with unrestricted access in and out of the United States is required, and those without U.S. passports must have all necessary travel documentation. Because Horizon Air regularly operates flights to and from Canada, you must also be eligible to enter and exit Canada without restrictions. English fluency, a high school diploma or GED, U.S. work authorization, and a minimum age of 21 complete the essential requirements.
What We Value?
Horizon Air is built on a culture of care, teamwork, fairness, and doing the right thing even when no one is watching. We are looking for people who embrace safety as a personal responsibility, who naturally extend kindness to others, and who take pride in performing with professionalism every single day. If these values resonate with you, you'll fit right in.
Compensation and Benefits
First-year Flight Attendants earn a contractual hourly rate of $20.66, with pay and benefits varying by location, company, employment status, and tenure. As part of the Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air family, you'll enjoy generous travel privileges, including standby flights on Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Horizon Air (processing fees may apply depending on the carrier).
You'll also have access to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, strong 401(k) contributions and matching, quarterly and annual performance bonuses, paid holidays, and paid time off. Our well-being programs are designed to support you both in the air and on the ground.
