Qatar Duty Free is hiring for a Doha-based role of Host/Hostess at Hamad International Airport. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional service by greeting arriving guests, ensuring a positive first impression, and efficiently managing seating arrangements.
Your accountabilities include welcoming, greeting, and seating guests while presenting menus with a positive demeanor and maintaining professional body language. You will handle table bookings, inform guests of wait times, and ensure smooth seating arrangements. Managing dining reservations, monitoring table availability, and coordinating with service and kitchen staff for guest preparation are key aspects of the role.
Additionally, you will inspect and maintain dining facilities, ensuring cleanliness at all times. Collecting guest feedback through comment cards, answering phone inquiries about the menu and restaurant, and ensuring menu accuracy and presentation are essential responsibilities. Observing tables, responding to guest needs, and maintaining effective communication with related departments are integral to smooth service delivery.
You will interact with guests upon arrival and departure to ensure a positive dining experience, maintain up-to-date knowledge of airport facilities, and adhere to the highest grooming standards. Compliance with health and safety policies, handling takeaway orders, and performing other duties assigned by the Head of the Department are also part of this role.
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must have a minimum high school qualification with at least 2 years of job-related experience, preferably in a similar role. You should demonstrate the ability to listen and respond effectively to demanding guest needs and work well under pressure in a busy environment. Strong teamwork skills, the capability to handle multiple tasks, and the ability to prioritize effectively are essential. Candidates must also be able to stand for extended periods of time and maintain a professional demeanor while managing guest expectations.
