Join the Whānau: Flight Attendant Opportunities at Air New Zealand – Auckland Base!
Expressions of Interest Now Open for July 2026 Intakes
Kia ora! We're thrilled to invite expressions of interest from passionate, resilient, and proudly Kiwi-spirited individuals to join our Cabin Crew whānau at our Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) base. If you're someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, takes pride in keeping things safe and smooth, and genuinely loves connecting with people, this is your chance to step into a role that's as rewarding as it is dynamic.
What It Means to Fly with Air New Zealand?
At Air New Zealand, safety isn't just a priority—it's the foundation of everything we do. Our flight attendants are proactive, dedicated, and proud professionals who rise to the occasion when every second counts. This role will challenge you, stretch you, and ultimately bring out the best in you. Whether it's keeping flights on schedule, thinking creatively through unexpected situations, or simply welcoming every passenger like a friend coming home, you'll be part of a team famous for that unmistakable "Can Do" attitude.
Our crew is known for delivering remarkable, uniquely Kiwi hospitality. As one of our flight attendants, you'll carry the mana of our airline, responsible not only for the safety and well-being of our customers but also for their comfort and enjoyment from the moment they step onboard until they reach their destination.
What We're Looking For?
We're seeking people who bring genuine warmth, resilience, and a natural ability to connect with others. While we don't expect you to be perfect from day one, we do look for the following essentials:
- Right to work: You must hold New Zealand or Australian Citizenship, or New Zealand or Australian Permanent Residency. You'll also need the ability to travel internationally, with a valid passport that has at least two years remaining.
- Age requirement: At least 18 years of age at the time you apply.
- Experience: A minimum of two years in a customer-facing role, ideally within a high-pressure environment. We value people who stay calm under pressure, adapt quickly to change, and have a natural passion for helping others.
- Driver licence: A full New Zealand Driver Licence and reliable transport are required from the time you apply.
- Communication skills: Passenger safety is paramount. You must be confident and clear when addressing compliance requirements with customers.
- Physical fitness: This role is active and demanding. You'll be on your feet for extended periods, so a good level of physical fitness is essential.
- Availability: We operate 24/7, 365 days a year. You'll need to commit to rostered shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Presentation: You'll be expected to meet our professional Grooming and Uniform Standards at all times.
Why This Role Is Different?
This isn't just a job—it's becoming part of a family. You'll work alongside dedicated people who lift each other up, celebrate wins together, and navigate challenges as one team. Every day brings something new: a different destination, an unexpected situation to solve, or a customer whose day you've genuinely made better. If you're ready to bring your best self to work and grow with an airline that New Zealand is proud of, we'd love to hear from you.
