Cabin Crew members play a key role in upholding the airline’s image and brand, adhering to operating procedures, supporting the Senior Cabin Crew Member (SCCM), and handling customer interactions with professionalism and care throughout each flight.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Cabin Crew member, you are responsible for delivering a high standard of safety, service, and operational efficiency on board. You contribute to the implementation of the Inflight Services strategy by aligning your work outputs with organizational goals and offering recommendations to support operational effectiveness and profitability. You manage resources and apply systems and processes in a cost-effective manner while maintaining compliance with relevant company policies, aviation regulations, and governance protocols. Your role involves ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers and crew, managing emergency and medical situations, and maintaining strong communication with customers, flight deck crew, Pursers, and fellow cabin crew members. You are also expected to participate in continuous improvement initiatives, support budget and cost control measures, utilize technology to enhance service delivery, and report any non-compliance or irregularities to the appropriate authority. Through all actions, you help uphold service excellence and regulatory adherence in every flight operation.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have completed Grade 12 and be fluent in English, with additional foreign languages considered an advantage. Candidates must be SACAA licensed crew members and either currently qualified or previously qualified on Boeing 737/738 aircraft, with supporting evidence provided. A sound understanding of relevant Cabin Services collective agreements, policies, procedures, standards, and applicable legislation is required, along with knowledge of BCEA, LRA, industrial agreements, CAA regulations, and other regulatory requirements in countries where SAA operates. Candidates must be well-groomed with no visible tattoos, maintain a weight proportional to height with a minimum of 1.58m, and a maximum BMI of 35 throughout the appointment. The ability to swim, fit into the aircraft aisle, and work independently without supervision is essential. Applicants must be prepared to undergo an intensive training program, including a series of assessments, interviews, and pass all required training. Attendance at training sessions as needed is mandatory. A psychometric and psychological evaluation, security check, and medical examination will be conducted. Candidates must have no criminal record.
