Marabu Airlines is seeking a dedicated, people-focused individual to join our team as Base Manager Cabin in Hamburg (HAM). Your Role: A Unique Blend of Flying and Leadership
The Base Manager role is an additional function alongside your Cabin Crew position, reporting directly to the Director of Cabin Operations. You'll split your time between flying duties (approximately 75%) and office and base management responsibilities (approximately 25%). This is a chance to shape the culture and operations of our Hamburg base while staying connected to the heart of our business—the cabin.
Initial Assignment: One year, with the possibility of continuation based on performance review.
Your Key Responsibilities
Support and Develop Your Team
- Provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance management to Cabin Crew
- Help maintain consistent safety, service, and operational standards within the base
- Support crew-related matters, including employee relations, conflict resolution, and relevant HR processes
Drive Recruitment and Onboarding
- Participate in Cabin Crew recruitment, selection, onboarding, and upgrade processes
- Support the successful integration and development of new crew members
Collaborate Across the Organisation
- Work closely with Cabin Operations, other departments, HQ in Tallinn, and Base Managers across Marabu
- Ensure effective communication and consistent implementation of company processes
Manage Base Operations
- Support the daily organisation of the HAM base, including crew meetings, local activities, and base office responsibilities
- Coordinate your Base Manager commitments with operational needs
Continue Flying
- Operate as active Cabin Crew, providing professional passenger service
- Carry out all required safety and security duties
- Support the operating crew and contribute to smooth and efficient cabin operations
Specialisation Areas
Alongside your responsibilities in HAM, you will also take ownership of one of the following areas and support its consistent implementation across all Marabu bases:
- Cabin Crew Performance Monitoring and Development
- Cabin Operations HR Processes and Crew Management
- Cabin Crew Recruitment and Onboarding

What We're Looking For?
Essential Requirements
- Valid EASA Cabin Crew Attestation—essential for this role
- Minimum 3 years of flying experience—you bring proven experience in the cabin
- Completed secondary education—clearly stated in your CV
- Right to live and work in Germany and the EU
- Fluency in written and spoken English—all levels of German are welcome, with a willingness to further develop your language skills over time
- Valid aeromedical certificate and ability to swim unassisted
- No criminal record
- Ability to reach HAM airport within 60 minutes at any time
- Availability to travel to Tallinn and other Marabu bases as required
Highly Valued Experience
- Previous experience as a Base Manager or Deputy Base Manager
- Experience in a specialist or management-level office position on the ground
