No flying experience is required—extensive training will be provided.
What the Role Involves
As a solo Flight Attendant with Rex, you'll be responsible for managing the entire cabin independently, ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers throughout the flight. Your duties will include:
- Equipment and security checks—ensuring everything is in order before takeoff
- In-flight announcements—keeping passengers informed with clarity and professionalism
- In-flight food and beverage service—delivering the warm, genuine service Rex is known for
- Cleaning duties—maintaining a tidy and welcoming cabin
- Handling various situations that may occur in the cabin—on your own, with confidence and composure

What We're Looking For?
We're seeking individuals who bring the right attitude and qualities to our team:
- Independent and self-reliant: As a solo Flight Attendant, you'll manage the entire cabin independently, ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers throughout the flight
- Customer-focused: You'll manage your own cabin and have the opportunity to provide a caring and personalised service while travelling to some of Australia's most unique destinations
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious: You'll manage in-flight services while maintaining a high standard of safety and compliance with aviation regulations
The role offers a great work/life balance along with competitive remuneration. It includes working weekends, public holidays, shift work (including early starts and late finishes), and some nights spent away from home.
Requirements
To meet our requirements, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or over
- Be an Australian Citizen or hold Australian Permanent Residency
- Be no taller than 173 cm
- Hold a current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
- Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate—completed within the last 3 years
- Be able to demonstrate that you have:
- Completed a minimum 3 years of secondary education in Australia or New Zealand, or
- Worked in Australia or New Zealand for at least 3 of the last 5 years, or
- Worked in the UK, Ireland, or USA for at least 3 of the last 5 years, or
- Completed the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall grade of 5.5
- Be able to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)—which involves a police security check
- Be passionate about your role and committed to delivering exceptional and consistent customer service
- Be able to swim fully clothed without aid or floating device—a swim assessment is required
- Be flexible and adaptable—working hours will vary and include working during holiday times and peak periods
- Have a high level of personal presentation
- Have a natural willingness to please and care for people
