Join Our Crew: Flight Attendant with Horizon Air in Portland, OR!
At Horizon Air, we believe that a great flight begins with a genuine connection. As the warm, welcoming face of our airline and our partners at Alaska Airlines, you are the person our guests remember long after they've landed. We are looking for authentic, gracious hosts who take pride in keeping passengers safe, comfortable, and truly cared for. If you are ready to bring your positive energy and service spirit to the skies, this union-represented role in Portland could be the perfect fit.
What You'll Do Onboard?
Your days will be a thoughtful mix of safety leadership and heartfelt hospitality. From the moment you greet passengers at the door to the final farewell, you will be the calm, capable presence that makes every journey feel seamless.
Here's a glimpse of what your responsibilities will look like:
- Safety First, Always: You will develop a deep understanding of all safety regulations and emergency procedures, ensuring every piece of equipment is ready for action. When you're in the air, the wellbeing of our guests is your number one priority.
- The Welcoming Host: You'll help passengers settle in—assisting with seating, finding space for carry-ons, and answering those first questions with a smile.
- In-Flight Service & Sales: From preparing and serving meals and beverages to processing onboard sales using a mobile device, you will bring efficiency and warmth to every interaction.
- Problem-Solving at Altitude: Whether a passenger has a medical concern, a travel question, or simply needs a calm voice during turbulence, you will handle situations with grace and good judgment.
- Beyond the Cabin: You might also help answer questions about destinations, offer recommendations, or take on other duties as needed to keep the flight running smoothly.
What You Bring to the Team?

- To be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- At least two years of experience in customer service or community service—roles where you have learned to listen, help, and stay positive under pressure.
- An uncompromising commitment to safety and the ability to stay calm and adaptable in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Basic comfort with technology, including using a mobile device for sales.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to travel extensively.
- The physical ability to perform all required duties, including fitting into specific aircraft dimensions (jump seat, harness, aisle, emergency exits) without modification.
- Willingness to attend four weeks of paid training in Portland, OR.
- A valid passport with unrestricted access in and out of the United States and Canada. (If you hold a non-U.S. passport, you will also need any additional required travel documentation.)
- The ability to relocate to any of our crew bases: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, OR; Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; Anchorage, AK; or Everett, WA.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
