Porter Airlines is hiring a Supervisor, In-Flight Services based at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Reporting to the Manager, Inflight Services, this role is responsible for the daily supervision and oversight of cabin crew and all related responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Supervisor, In-Flight Services, you will be responsible for conducting regular ramp inspections to ensure Cabin Crew compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations, workplace safety, and Porter’s Brand and Service Standards. You will participate in operations to support on-time performance and supervise in-flight operations related to cabin crew. Your duties include performing internal audits, reviewing Purser Reports to provide resolutions, and following up with internal operational departments. You will also monitor attendance reports and mentor, coach, and motivate Cabin Crew to maintain the highest safety standards and deliver consistent premium service onboard. Acting as a key liaison, you will counsel Cabin Crew, foster open communication, and address morale issues, escalating concerns to the Director, In-Flight Services when necessary. You will provide care, guidance, and assistance in abnormal situations, including onboard emergencies and medical incidents. Additionally, you will conduct performance assessments, ensure compliance with safety and service procedures, grooming standards, and company policies, and provide immediate feedback and tracking. You will monitor and coach probationary Flight Attendants and Pursers, participate in disciplinary follow-ups and documentation, and actively contribute to Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) by reporting and investigating hazards and incidents. You will also oversee catering issues, address concerns, and support the implementation of new initiatives. Other duties may be assigned by the Manager, In-Flight Services.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have a minimum of five years of experience in the airline industry, with two to five years of leadership experience in an elevated role being a valuable asset. Previous Cabin Crew and airport operational experience are preferred. A flexible schedule, including irregular hours, mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability, is essential. Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills are required, along with the ability to proactively follow up and provide constructive feedback. The candidate must have a solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as excellent safety and customer service knowledge. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial. The candidate must successfully complete the initial cabin crew training and be able to operate as a crew member when required. A current, valid Canadian passport or an international passport with a valid US Crewmember Visa (C-1/D) is mandatory. Additionally, the candidate must be able to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and successfully complete the company screening process.
