Description
Are you passionate about people and driven by adventure? Virgin Atlantic is on the lookout for warm, enthusiastic individuals to become part of our iconic cabin crew based at London Heathrow. If you thrive on creating unforgettable travel moments and enjoy working in a close-knit team, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
As a member of our cabin crew, your number one priority will always be the safety and wellbeing of our customers. You'll be trained to handle a wide range of onboard responsibilities — from operating emergency equipment and ensuring safety compliance, to managing unexpected medical events. Beyond that, you'll deliver an outstanding inflight experience that reflects Virgin Atlantic’s unique personality and service standards. Whether you're calming a nervous flyer, assisting with special requests, or simply offering a friendly chat over a meal, you'll help create a journey our passengers will remember.
Working as a team is at the heart of this role. Every flight is different, but one thing remains constant: your commitment to excellence, positivity, and professionalism.
Requirements
To set you up for success during training and in the role, you’ll need to meet the following criteria:
- You have the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK (unfortunately, we’re not able to offer visa sponsorship).
- You’re free of any unspent criminal convictions.
- You’re a confident swimmer, able to swim 25 meters unaided and climb into a life raft using a rope ladder.
- You’ve built up at least 18 months of customer-facing experience.
- You hold a minimum of three GCSEs (grades A*-C or 9-4) or equivalent qualifications.
- You're fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Physically, you can reach overhead compartments (210cm without shoes, standing on tiptoes), and can comfortably sit in a jump seat with your harness fastened (seat height: 45cm).
Benefits and Perks
We offer more than just a job — we offer a lifestyle and a supportive career journey:
- A starting salary of £20,229, with an average of £5,000 in trip pay annually, plus variable payments and overseas subsistence.
- Free staff travel: up to seven return flights a year for you and your loved ones (you cover only the fees and taxes).
- A dedicated Crew Performance Manager to support your personal development.
- Access to a wide range of benefits: pension scheme, life assurance, private healthcare (self-funded), and wellbeing services including virtual GP access.
- Optional salary sacrifice perks like travel insurance, gym memberships, and more.
- Discounts on a variety of products and services to enjoy when you're not flying.
