Lead the Extraordinary: Cabin Services Manager – White Desert Antarctica!

Location: Western Cape, South Africa (supporting Antarctic operations)
    Contract Period: 01 May 2026 – 31 May 2027

White Desert Antarctica invites experienced aviation leaders to step into a role like no other. We are seeking a Cabin Services Manager to provide strategic oversight of our seasonal flight operations, ensuring every guest experiences the pinnacle of VVIP service in one of the world's most remote and extraordinary environments. If you have the leadership depth, regulatory expertise, and passion for luxury hospitality to match, this is your opportunity to shape excellence at the edge of the world.

Your Role: Shaping the Guest Experience from the Ground Up

As Cabin Services Manager, you will serve as the strategic anchor for our cabin operations. Working closely with the Inflight Operations Lead and the Satellite Cabin Crew Manager (SCCM), you'll provide high-level direction and escalation management for all seasonal flights. Your focus will be twofold: delivering seamless, world-class experiences for our VVIP guests while maintaining rigorous regulatory compliance and operational precision.

This is not a traditional cabin management role. You'll be working in a unique operational context—supporting flights to and from Antarctica—where adaptability, foresight, and emotional resilience are just as critical as technical expertise.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership & Team Oversight:

    • Lead and mentor the Inflight Operations Lead and Cabin Crew teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
    • Oversee pre-flight and post-flight briefings, ensuring alignment across all operational touchpoints.
    • Act as the primary liaison with SCCM to coordinate stock uplifts and operational readiness.

    Operational Planning & Cross-Team Coordination

    • Maintain seamless communication between the inflight team, hospitality team, and guest experience team.
    • Ensure special guest requests—including dietary needs—are anticipated, documented, and flawlessly executed.

    In-Flight Service & Regulatory Compliance:

    • Develop and enforce cabin service standards and protocols, ensuring they reflect White Desert's signature VVIP experience.
    • Serve as senior escalation point for onboard issues, safety reports, and guest well-being concerns.
    • Ensure full compliance with EASA and SACAA regulations, the Company Operations Manual, and all operator policies.
    • Oversee Crew Resource Management (CRM) training to strengthen safety culture and service delivery.

    Stock, Financial & Supplier Coordination:

    • Collaborate with operators, ground teams, and suppliers to manage cabin supplies, conduct audits, and identify opportunities for innovation—from cabin presentation to emergency preparedness.

    HR Administration & Performance Management:

    • Manage crew scheduling, performance monitoring, and corrective actions with fairness and consistency.
    • Maintain accurate staff records, files, and invoices, ensuring all HR administrative functions are handled with precision.
    • Analyze safety, security, and service data to drive continuous improvement.

    Training & Mentorship:

    • Deliver training on safety routines, security checks, and service excellence, ensuring all team members meet medical and fitness standards.
    • Champion White Desert's proactive safety culture, encouraging open reporting and consistent communication.

What You Bring to the Role?

    Certifications & Eligibility:

    • Valid EASA cabin crew licence, or be medically fit to meet regulatory requirements with the ability to obtain all necessary permits and accreditations.
    • Valid passport with at least 12 months remaining validity for global travel and work.

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 7 years in aviation, including at least 3 years in a senior cabin crew or Inflight Operations Lead capacity.
    • A proven track record of leading, motivating, and developing high-performing teams in a VVIP or premium aviation setting.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strategic leadership with the ability to inspire excellence in remote and challenging operational environments.
    • Advanced decision-making skills and composure under pressure.
    • Deep expertise in safety culture, CRM, and regulatory compliance.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of airline operations, safety protocols, and cabin service standards.
    • Exceptional communication, data analysis, and stakeholder liaison abilities.
    • A genuine passion for luxury service, paired with emotional resilience and adaptability.

    Languages & Other Requirements:

    • Fluent English, written and spoken (mandatory).
    • Valid driver's licence.

    Why Join White Desert?

This is more than a leadership role—it's an invitation to be part of something truly unique. You'll work alongside a team of passionate professionals dedicated to creating transformative experiences in one of the most spectacular places on Earth.
