Over the course of 6.5 weeks in Houston, Texas, you’ll gain hands-on experience in safety, service, and teamwork, preparing you to represent the United brand with confidence and care.

    What to Expect During Training?

    Our Initial Training Program is designed to set you up for success. You’ll receive:

    • Dual-occupancy hotel accommodation in Houston
    • Breakfast and one main meal per day (based on training schedule)
    • A weekly stipend of $140
    • A supportive environment where professionalism and teamwork are at the core

    Upon successful completion, you’ll attend orientation at your assigned base — one of our key hubs such as Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, or Washington Dulles — and officially begin your career as a full-time United Flight Attendant.


    What You’ll Be Doing?

    As a United Flight Attendant, your role is about much more than service — it’s about creating a safe, comfortable, and memorable experience for every passenger. You’ll be the face of the airline, representing our “People First” culture on every flight.

    Your responsibilities include:

    • Ensuring the highest standards of inflight safety and passenger care
    • Communicating fluently in both English and German to assist and reassure passengers
    • Delivering exceptional customer service with warmth, professionalism, and empathy
    • Handling inflight situations with calmness and good judgment
    • Providing safety demonstrations and managing onboard emergencies if required
    • Working flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and long-haul assignments

    What We’re Looking For?

    To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a balance of professionalism, poise, and adaptability.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • 21 years or older at the time of application
    • High school diploma or GED (college coursework preferred)
    • At least one year of customer service experience in hospitality, retail, aviation, or teaching
    • Fluent in English and German (spoken and written)
    • Valid passport with at least 18 months remaining before expiration
    • Ability to travel worldwide without restrictions
    • Physically able to perform flight attendant duties (including lifting, reaching, and assisting passengers)
    • Professional appearance and grooming in line with United’s standards
    • Comfortable serving food and beverages, including alcohol
    • Willingness to relocate to any assigned base (relocation assistance not provided)
    • Successful completion of all background checks, drug screenings, and medical clearances
