Description
Saxon Air is looking for a friendly, reliable, and proactive Catering Assistant to join our Facilities Team at Norwich Airport. This is a part-time, permanent position working 20 hours per week on a flexible shift schedule — some early starts from 5:30am and occasional weekend shifts are required. We’re open to working with the right person to shape a schedule that works for both you and the business.

What You’ll Be Doing:
This is a hands-on role with a wide variety of responsibilities in food preparation, service, and maintaining our high standards across the catering area. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring guests and crew enjoy great service and well-presented food. Your key duties will include:
- Supporting with food preparation and simple cooking when needed
- Preparing, wrapping, and labelling food for sale with attention to freshness and presentation
- Serving hot and cold beverages as trained
- Keeping the food displays tidy, clean, and visually appealing
- Ensuring proper rotation and storage of all food items
- Operating the till, handling transactions, and issuing VAT receipts
- Washing up crockery and cutlery using the dishwasher, and maintaining cleanliness of all equipment
- Restocking condiments and utensils to ensure everything is ready for service
- Following all hygiene, cash handling, and security procedures
- Reporting issues and customer complaints to the supervisor promptly
- Opening or closing the premises when required, and cashing up accurately at the end of the day
- Supporting general cleaning duties in line with the daily schedule
- Contributing to a positive, customer-first environment by delivering excellent service and upselling when appropriate
Requirements

- A strong sense of organisation and the ability to manage time effectively

- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs
- Honesty, reliability, and a keen eye for detail
- Some experience in a catering or food service environment (preferred but not essential)
- Ongoing and unrestricted right to live and work in the UK under current immigration rules
