Mesa Airlines is looking for Flight Attendants who will represent the airline with reliability, punctuality, and exceptional customer service. Flight Attendants must maintain a positive, approachable, and accommodating attitude while ensuring passengers have a comfortable and safe experience. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of safety procedures, service standards, and company policies to provide the highest level of service.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Mesa Airlines Flight Attendant, you will greet passengers, monitor carry-on baggage, and direct them to assigned seats while ensuring a safe and reliable onboard experience. You will remain positive, respectful, and understanding during challenging situations and passenger conflicts. Maintaining physical health and professional appearance standards is essential. You must have a thorough working knowledge of all emergency procedures and the ability to operate emergency equipment. Responsibilities include explaining the use of safety equipment in a clear manner, serving beverages, snacks, and meals where applicable, assisting passengers with storing carry-on luggage, informing passengers of Federal Aviation Regulations, and assisting with inflight medical emergencies and special needs passengers, such as unaccompanied minors and individuals with impairments. You will be required to abide by policies outlined in the Code of Conduct, Employee Handbook, Flight Attendant Manual, and Code Share Partner standards.

However, these bases are subject to change. New hires will be assigned to one of these bases during their training period. The location for this position will be determined based on the company's operational needs and the seniority of the applicant.
Requirements
The successful candidate must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent; college credits or a minimum of two years of customer service experience is preferred. They must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently and demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and dependability. Upon completing training, candidates must be willing to be assigned to any of Mesa Airlines' crew bases, which may require relocation or commuting based on operational needs. The role requires the flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours. Candidates must have a height between 4'11'' and 6' without shoes to reach overhead bins and galley compartments for emergency equipment retrieval. They must be capable of performing all safety-related procedures, including operating aircraft doors, lifting emergency window exits (approximately 40 lbs.), assisting with carry-on baggage stowage, and operating meal and beverage carts. A professional appearance must be maintained at all times. The ability to sit in the flight attendant jumpseat without modification, walk comfortably down the aisle facing forward, and fit quickly through overwing exits is required. Vision must be at least 20/40, corrected or uncorrected. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, possess and maintain a valid passport, and have the legal ability to travel unrestricted to all countries served by Mesa Airlines, including Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas, and Cuba. Applicants must have authorization to make multiple entries into the United States at will. A successful background investigation, including FBI fingerprinting and criminal history, is required. Candidates must pass a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug and alcohol test and undergo random screenings throughout employment, including testing for marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP, and amphetamines, with medical marijuana use prohibited for safety-sensitive employees under DOT regulations.

The starting pay for Flight Attendants is $18.67 per flight hour, increasing to $20.24 after six months and $22.22 after 12 months, with annual increases thereafter. Flight hours will be discussed during an information session for candidates who move forward in the application process. The average first-year earnings for a Flight Attendant are approximately $23,000. Additional compensation opportunities include various ways to earn extra monthly income, such as a crash-pad assistance program. Flight Attendants who choose not to stay in company-provided hotel accommodations receive a portion of the hotel cost as payment. By utilizing these opportunities, Flight Attendants can earn an additional $500 monthly, totaling $6,000 annually.
