United Airlines Is Hiring Italian-Speaking Flight Attendants!

If you've ever dreamed of building a career with one of the world's largest and most dynamic airlines, this is your chance to join United's global inflight team. With more than 28,000 active flight attendants and the industry's most far-reaching route network, United continues to grow faster than ever—and we are now looking for fluent Italian speakers who are passionate about safety, service, and cultural connection.

This is a role for those who love people, adapt easily to fast-moving environments, and want a career that blends adventure with meaningful responsibility. No aviation schooling or college degree is required—United provides all the training you need to succeed.

Your Journey Starts With World-Class Training

Successful candidates will begin with 6.5 weeks of intensive Flight Attendant training in Houston, Texas, where you'll learn United's internationally recognized safety protocols, service philosophy, and inflight standards. Throughout training, United provides dual-occupancy hotel accommodations, two daily meals based on schedule, and a weekly $140 scholarship. Once you graduate, you'll attend orientation at your assigned base—located in cities such as Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, or other United flight attendant bases—before officially starting full-time with the company. (Relocation assistance is not provided.)

    Where You Can Be Based?

This opportunity is open in several key United hubs:

    • Newark, New Jersey
    • San Francisco, California
    • Chicago, Illinois
    • Washington Dulles, Virginia
    • Denver, Colorado

    What the Role Is About?

United flight attendants are trusted safety professionals who also deliver a warm, thoughtful travel experience. The job requires a strong customer-focused mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain composed when handling a wide range of situations—from medical events and delays to turbulence or emergency evacuations. You should enjoy meeting people from all walks of life, representing the airline with confidence, and creating memorable journeys for passengers around the world.

With a global schedule that runs 24/7, this is a role that demands flexibility. You may be assigned reserve duties, fly long-haul or domestic trips, work weekends or holidays, and spend multiple days away from your base. Reliability and teamwork are essential, whether you're managing tasks independently in the cabin or coordinating as part of a large crew.

    Who United Is Looking For?

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • At least 21 years old
    • High school diploma or GED (some college preferred)
    • Minimum one year of customer service experience in fields such as hospitality, retail, education, aviation, or social services
    • Fluent in English and Italian—spoken, read, and written
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and confidently in emergencies
    • Ability to hear, respond, and act appropriately during all safety-related situations
    • Professional appearance and willingness to follow grooming, uniform, tattoo, hair, and piercing standards
    • Tattoos are allowed on arms, wrists, legs, and feet, provided they do not exceed credit-card size per tattoo and are not offensive; tattoos on the head, neck, or hands (including behind the ears) are not permitted
    • No decorative dental caps or mouth jewelry
    • Comfortable using digital devices (tablets, phones, laptops)
    • Must hold a valid passport book—with at least 18 months of validity at the time of application—and be able to travel worldwide without restrictions
    • Able to lift and stow luggage, operate aircraft doors, push/pull a 250-lb beverage cart, and successfully complete reach and jump-seat assessments
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States
    • Willing to work any schedule required by United's 24/7 operations
    • Must pass DOT/FAA drug screens, hearing/vision evaluations, fingerprinting, and a 10-year background check (travel limitations due to DUI/DWI may affect eligibility)

During training, all flight attendant trainees must also complete a pool evacuation exercise and demonstrate proficiency in emergency procedures.

    What United Offers in Return?

United provides a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support your well-being and reward your contribution. This includes:

    • Starting hourly flight pay of $28.88, with the top of scale reaching $67.11
