Lead Safety and Service Excellence at Bermudair: Head of Cabin Crew & Safety!
Bermudair is looking for a seasoned, people-focused leader to step into the role of Head of Cabin Crew & Safety. This is not just a management position—it's an opportunity to shape the culture, performance, and reputation of our growing airline. You'll be responsible for ensuring that every guest who steps aboard a Bermudair aircraft feels safe, valued, and well-cared for, while empowering our cabin crew to perform at their best.
Reporting directly to the Head of Flight Operations, you will act as the bridge between regulatory requirements, operational realities, and the human element of in-flight service. If you're someone who views safety and hospitality as two sides of the same coin, this role will feel like a natural fit.
What You'll Be Doing?
Your days will be varied, strategic, and hands-on. Here is a closer look at what the role involves:
- Working closely with the Head of Flight Operations to liaise with aviation authorities on all operational matters affecting cabin crew.
- Taking ownership of the Operations Manual and managing the flow of safety notices and instructions to crew.
- Partnering with leadership on cabin crew recruitment, retention strategies, and long-term team development.
- Overseeing training programs and crew scheduling to ensure our aircraft are always staffed with qualified, prepared professionals.
- Collaborating with Ground Operations and Line Station Engineers to maintain high standards of cabin presentation and cleanliness.
- Conducting regular performance audits and assessments of cabin crew, then designing thoughtful corrective action plans where needed.
- Keeping a finger on the pulse of regulatory changes and industry best practices—then translating those into actionable improvements.
- Managing wellness initiatives, monitoring attendance trends, and working with HR to address patterns before they become disruptions.
- Observing service standards and crew-passenger interactions firsthand, then partnering with customer experience teams to refine our approach.
- Addressing any safety deficiencies immediately and making sure training remains fully adequate and up to date.
- Performing Line Training and Checks, while actively promoting a culture where safety and compliance come naturally.
- Maintaining open, honest communication across the team—motivating cabin crew and fostering a genuinely supportive environment.
- Reviewing audit findings, upholding safety standards at every turn, and ensuring safety reports are processed in a timely manner.
What You Bring to the Table?
We're looking for a leader who has walked the walk in commercial aviation and is ready to take on broader responsibility. Here is what we hope to see in your background:
- At least 3 to 5 years of cabin crew management experience within a commercial airline.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on in-flight management experience.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities—you know how to inspire a team, not just direct them.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze situations from multiple angles.
- A solid grasp of regulatory frameworks and industry best practices, particularly around safety and operations.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support operations and team development.
- A track record of building team effectiveness and nurturing productive relationships across departments.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office and technology in general—you're not afraid of new tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you can speak to a regulator, a crew member, or a department head with equal clarity.
Preferred but Not Required:
- Qualified trainer credentials in CRM, AVMed, SEP, or SOP.
