The role offers a contract with a competitive basic salary of £17,500, with the potential to earn up to £25,000 annually through flying/duty pay and a tax-free subsistence allowance.
Accountabilities
- Ensure safety, security, and health responsibilities are performed to high standards as per Company Operations Manual and regulations.
- Report safety issues through correct channels and support the BA ‘Just Safety’ culture.
- Maintain compliance with Safety & Security Procedures training.
- Deliver exceptional service in line with BA Euroflyer’s standards.
- Follow all corporate policies and relevant legislation.
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and professional cabin appearance for all customers.
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
- Be medically and physically fit, meeting BA Health Service Medical Assessment requirements.
- Height between 1.575m (5’2”) and 1.87m (6’2”) with a vertical reach of 2.01m (6’7”) maximum.
- Proficient in CPR, able to kneel in confined spaces, and apply pressure for compressions.
- Able to lift a 9kg (20lb) weight from 195cm (78”), equivalent to overhead locker lifting.
- Competent in water survival skills, including treading water and climbing into a life raft.
- Able to pull a fully laden trolley (86kg) on an incline of up to 3 degrees.
- Fit into an aircraft jump seat harness without needing a seatbelt extension.
- Stand in a 51cm x 51cm area to allow for rapid evacuation.
- Swim 50m and tread water for 3 minutes, providing assistance if needed.
- Comfortable with heights, e.g., descending an aircraft escape slide from 9m.
- Prepared to remove headwear to pull on a smoke hood in emergencies.
- Commit to safety, security, and compliance with BA and regulatory standards.
- Deliver excellence in service in line with BA’s standards and procedures.

Essential Criteria
- Be aged 18 or over at time of application.
- Have a passion for customer service with at least 12 months of experience.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Medically fit to meet regulatory requirements and able to obtain necessary passes and documents.
- Hold a valid passport with at least 12 months before expiration and unrestricted global travel rights.
- Clear Criminal Record Check for all countries of residence in the past five years with satisfactory references.
- Availability to work 24/7 shifts, covering all days of the year.
- Willingness to spend time away from home and conduct stand-by duties near the airport base.
- Accessibility to London Gatwick and ownership of a smartphone.
- Adherence to British Airways uniform standards with no visible tattoos or body piercings.
